This is it! The Call to Action Against Racism advisory committee is delighted to announce Résolutions2025: Overcoming Racism Together, the 3rd edition of the bilingual provincial conference

This bilingual edition under the theme "TOWARDS A ROOTED AND INCLUSIVE FRANCOPHONIE" will be held from 15 to 17 October 2025 in Greater Sudbury, with an unforgettable pre-conference excursion to Manitoulin Island, an unceded territory of First Nation communities. October 16 and 17 will bring together black and racialized community leaders, public and political decision-makers, private institutions and youth from across the province to work together to advance racial equity in Francophone communities. And to officially open the conference, we will be honoured to welcome our special guest Mayor Paul Lefebvre, Mayor of Greater Sudbury.

The first two editions of Résolutions delivered concrete, collective recommendations to combat systemic racism in the fields of education, the economy, health and public policy. This work has helped to guide institutional action, strengthen cross-sector collaboration and open up sustainable spaces for dialogue between communities and decision-makers. Résolutions2025 is part of this continuity, with the aim of anchoring equity at the heart of Francophone structures.

More about this year’s theme

“TOWARDS A ROOTED AND INCLUSIVE FRANCOPHONIE”

This year's theme, "Towards a rooted and inclusive Francophonie", is a call to action and a tribute: to our past struggles, to our thriving communities, to our languages, cultures and multiple identities. It underlines the importance of building a Francophonie that recognises the richness of its diversity, anchors its actions in the experience of racialised peoples, and is resolutely committed to equity in all spheres of society.

Exclusive Pre-Conference Excursion

October 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

An inspiring tour of Manitoulin Island, in the heart of a First Nations reserve

The aim of the pre-conference excursion will be to immerse our participants in the deep and living history of Manitoulin Island, in the heart of a First Nations reserve, the day before the conference. This excursion will offer an enriched perspective on the historical and contemporary links between the Black and First Nation communities, and on the struggles and successes of these peoples in the face of injustice.

By exploring this symbolic territory, we will provoke meaningful reflections and exchanges around the issues of systemic racism and intercultural solidarity today. This experience will strengthen our collective commitment to equality and inclusion, while paving the way for enriched discussions over the two days of the Résolutions2025 conference.

Together, we seek to honour the past while building an equitable and more inclusive future.
