IA, accès et avenir du travail - AI, Access and the Future of Work
Artificial intelligence is already transforming our jobs, public services, schools, businesses, and the ways we participate in society. But one question remains crucial: who is included in this transformation, and who risks being left out?
This series of three short videos on techno-racism, produced by La Passerelle-I.D.É., invites communities, public policymakers, institutional leaders, and the tech sector to better understand the connections between artificial intelligence, systemic bias, digital access, power, and the future of work.
This series of videos aims to:
-
demystify artificial intelligence and make it accessible to a non-technical audience;
-
raise awareness of the realities of techno-racism and the biases present in certain digital systems;
-
strengthen the digital literacy of Black and Francophone communities;
-
encourage community, civic, and political participation in debates about the technological future;
-
support the visibility of digital equity issues in provincial and national conversations;
This project is part of the Bilingual Provincial Conference “Resolutions: Overcoming Racism Together” and the recommendations issued in 2024 by the second edition of the conference, organized under the auspices of the Call to Action Against Racism Advisory Committee of La Passerelle-I.D. É., which call for greater inclusion of Black, Francophone, and racialized communities in decision-making, innovation, and public policy spaces regarding the evolution of new technologies.
Through accessible testimonials, analyses, and conversations, these video clips give communities the words, tools, and confidence needed to actively participate in building a more just and inclusive technological future.
We warmly thank Mary Hassan, Dorian Spears, and Ibrahima Gueye for accepting our invitation to share their experiences and perspectives.
We are also proud to have collaborated with Nadine Spencer of BrandEQ Group and Andrew Bromfield of Formative Innovation on the development and production of these important video clips, as well as on the report on artificial intelligence, which explores issues of access, power, and the future of work.
This project was made possible thanks to the funding, support, and commitment of the Foundation for Black Communities and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
