A little about Wafaa
Through her committed and transformative leadership, she actively contributes to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion within the Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord. As Acting EDI Officer, she plays a key role in developing and implementing the equity action plan, ensuring that it becomes a genuine catalyst for change within the organisation.
Driven by a deep respect for human dignity and the richness of cultural identities, she works both at a systemic level and on the ground, supporting school staff in creating more welcoming, representative and inclusive learning environments. She also fosters fruitful collaborations with community partners and actively contributes to regional discussions on immigration and inclusion in Northern Ontario.
Through her commitment, her courage in tackling essential conversations and her ability to build bridges between communities, she is helping to drive educational practices towards greater equity and representation.
