Inspired by the preciousness and diversity of gems, the "Gemmes" recognitions honor bold, courageous, and resilient individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the development and dissemination of diversity and inclusion principles and the eradication of systemic racism, through multiple interventions including their work in scholarship, administration, leadership, mentoring, or community engagement.

 

This year we will be highlighting 4 outstanding individuals in the fields of politics, education and economics, as well as a special lifetime achievement award.
